Accreditation

American Correctional Association

In April 2008 after a three-day facility-wide audit and examination of the policies and procedures governing the operational standards of the facility, issued by the American Correctional Association (ACA) Commission on Accreditation, the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility passed with a 99.7% rating. This gave the facility a three-year reaccreditation from their prior ACA accreditation in 2005. The Wyatt Facility was tested against 384 applicable standards on virtually all aspects of correctional operations, from security and physical plant to use of force; medical; programs; and food services.

Office of the Federal Detention Trustees Review

On February 23-25, 2010, the Wyatt Detention Facility was subjected to an “unannounced” audit of the day to day operations of the organization. A three-day audit was conducted by a team from the Correctional Management & Communications Group under contract to the Office of the Federal Detention Trustee out of Washington, DC.
